Intuitive Quilting For The Heart

My journey with cloth began when I was young.. afternoons spent wandering though antique shops in sleepy Vermont towns, admiring the faded quilts that seemed to whisper their memories to me.. winter nights looking through the familiar wooden blanket chest in my home full of hand stitched blankets passed down from my grandmother… and the joy I found in thrifting old clothing and fabrics at the local shops.

Years later my love for textiles was rekindled during my travels through India and Asia, with hours spent exploring the long alleys in the fabric markets, with the bright colors swirling around me. I loved the different textures, thin and soft muslins, raw silks, and the designs and patterns on the fabrics. When I returned home after my last trip I set up a studio in a small house I rented and my journey with quilting began.

As a self taught artist my work is full of freedom and intuition. My mixed media quilts incorporate hand painted fabrics and papers, repurposed fibers, botanically dyed fabrics, hand embroidery and machine free motion stitching as well as my personal poetry.

Each piece is lovingly created and is truly an original artwork, full of color, texture, stitching and emotion, reminiscent of goodness and nostalgia.
